Join the ASCE Lab

We are now accepting applications for volunteer undergraduate research assistants for the upcoming semester. Volunteers are generally expected to commit at least 7 – 10 hours per week for a period of at least a semester (though a two semester commitment is preferred). Summer positions are also possible. Students may sign up for course credit either through the Department of Psychology (PSY 290, Directed Study) or the Department of Psychology and Human Development (PSY 2980) to receive course credit if desired, or simply sign up for a volunteer internship.  In the spring of each year, we also accept Honors students.

Research assistants work closely with our research team (which includes faculty, graduate students, and other research assistants). Duties vary but can include assisting with subject recruitment; helping with laboratory studies; coding, entering, and analyzing data; and helping to present study results at professional meetings and in scientific publications.

If you are an undergraduate interested in a position in our lab, please fill out the contact form below and submit it. We’ll get back in touch with you to set up a time to meet to discuss opportunities. If you are interested in applying to graduate school or for a post-doctoral position at Vanderbilt in our lab, please contact Dr. Kirby or Dr. Smith directly. We do not currently have any paid staff positions in our lab.
