Biographical Sketch

Bieke David, a native Belgian, received her Candidate in Psychology (2000) and her Master in Psychology (2003) from the University of Leuven in Leuven, Belgium. Her main interests during her graduate education in Belgium were in social and clinical psychology. Upon completing the Master's program in Leuven, Bieke moved to the US to further her graduate career working in the Emotion and Appraisal Lab with Dr. Craig Smith. In August of 2007, Ms. David obtained her Master of Science Degree from Peabody College, Vanderbilt University as part of the Cognitive Science program. After completing her Master's, Bieke joined the Clinical Psychology Program of the College of Arts and Sciences at Vanderbilt University. She currently works with Dr. Bunmi Olatunji and her research focuses on (a) investigating the role between disgust, morality and punishment and (b) disgust as a vulnerability factor for OCD.
