In addition to the main textbook, you will be assigned various articles throughout the course, which will be designed to supplement the lectures and the textbook;  these articles will be placed on the course web page and/or on reserve in the library.

Grading:          There will be 3 exams during the course.  Each of these exams will be worth 20% of your final grade.  In addition, you will be required to keep a journal throughout the semester, detailing reactions to lectures and discussing specific assignments you receive in class.  Details on the journal assignment will be provided separately.  The journal project will be worth 40% of your final grade.

Attendance:     You are not required to attend this class, and I will not be taking roll.  However, many of the things I cover in the lectures will NOT be covered in your textbook.  In addition, we will be doing a number of in-class activities that you will NOT be able to make up if you miss class.
