The two events are uncorrelated. Plotted at the bottom of this window are the associated time-lines for the two events ( black line = right-hand Gabor; white line = left-hand Gabor). As you can see from this animation, the two events generate unrelated time-lines. In this animation we've also denoted points in time at which a change in direction of motion occurred using black triangles (right-hand Gabor) and white triangles (left-hand Gabor). The resulting series of triangles constitutes a point process (i.e., a collection of times at which events occur, where "event" in this case means a change in direction of motion). Correlation of the two point processes expresses the extent to which the two are related.
