Victoria Villalta-Gil, PhD

Postdoctoral Scholar

I graduated in Psychology in 2001 (URL, Barcelona) and received my PhD (URL, Barcelona) in January 2008. My thesis was entitled: “Symptoms and Cognitive Functioning as predictors of social disability in schizophrenic outpatients”. I have been involved in the study of the neurofunctional basis of psychiatric disorders for the last four years, especially focused on social cognition paradigms in both, psychiatric clinical and subclinical populations. Just recently I started work as a postdoc scholar in the Tennessee Twin Study led by Prof. David Zald. My main professional goal is to keep learning and improving my skills in neuroscience research while acquiring management skills in order to gain the abilities to transfer scientific knowledge to the community.
