Shanghai Scene

I lived in shanghai for 8 years and I loved the city very much. It is open, modern and lively.

< Shanghai, the largest city in China, is situated on the coast of the East China Sea and on the Changjiang River, the third longest river in the world. Shanghai has a sub-tropical climate with four distinct seasons and an average yearly temperature of 15'C. The 114 km. long Huanpu River flows through the city and provides a very good harbor. Its total area is 6,184 sq. km of which 340 sq. km constitutes the city proper. Its total population is 12.05 million, of which 6.4 million live in the urban area. Shanghai has developed into an important base in China's industry, foreign trade, science and technology, as well as a center of culture and education in the country. >

Yangpu and Nanpu Bridges are the No.1, No.3 Cable suspension bridge in the world by thier span lengths, respectively.
In recent years the government has made much efforts in improving Shanghai's infrastructure construction, especially with emphasis on easing the traffic situation. The establishment of the two great bridges over the Huangpu River, the inner and outer ring roads, and many overpasses, and the metro-subway radically changed the city's outlook.

Shanghai is also a city full of historic sites and tourist attractions. The below is

Yu Yuan Garden --  a famous ancient garden built in 1559. It is located in a quiet and beautiful surrounding, and ingeniously laid out, which has been acclaimed as the most beautiful garden in South China.

A little about Beijing

I went to Beijing in last June, when I just completed my study at Shanghai institute of Physiology, CAS. I visited my relatives and many friends over there.

< Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China and an ancient capital of six dynasties, is one of the most famous historical and cultural cities in the world. It has invaluable, almost unparalleled tourist resources, which have attracted an increasing number of tourists from various countries. Today, Beijing has become the center of China's tourism. >  Note: the above introduction is extracted from Welcome to Beijing.
