< Shanghai, the largest city in China, is situated on the coast of
the East China Sea and on the Changjiang River, the third longest river
in the world. Shanghai has a sub-tropical climate with four distinct seasons
and an average yearly temperature of 15'C. The 114 km. long Huanpu River
flows through the city and provides a very good harbor. Its total area
is 6,184 sq. km of which 340 sq. km constitutes the city proper. Its total
population is 12.05 million, of which 6.4 million live in the urban area.
Shanghai has developed into an important base in China's industry, foreign
trade, science and technology, as well as a center of culture and education
in the country. >

The night view of the Bund
The Bund is the riverfront of the Huangpu River, which is an important Hub of water transportation both for freight and passengers. Also, the Bund and the buildings nearby have long been for a symbol of Shanghai.

Yangpu and Nanpu Bridges are the No.1, No.3 Cable suspension bridge
in the world by thier span lengths, respectively.
In recent years the government has made much efforts in improving Shanghai's
infrastructure construction, especially with emphasis on easing the traffic
situation. The establishment of the two great bridges over the Huangpu
River, the inner and outer ring roads, and many overpasses, and the metro-subway
radically changed the city's outlook.
Shanghai is also a city full of historic sites and tourist attractions. The below is
