The format of the tests will be multiple choice, matching and short answer type questions, taken from lectures, assigned reading and videos shown during class.
Absence from tests due to university business, religious holidays or other causes must be excused one (1) week in advance of the day of the exam by Dr. Smith. Except under the most dire emergencies, an excused student must arrange to take the exam before it is scheduled to be given to the class. If you miss an exam but are not excused in advance of its scheduled date, you will receive a failing grade for that exam. There are no make-up exams given after the exam date.
The final exam will be multiple choice type questions and will counts 25% of your final grade. There is no alternative final exam. The final exam is optional, if, and only if, you attend the last two classes on Dec. 2nd and Dec. 7th. If you do not attend these two classes (and role will be taken), you must take the final exam. If, however, you do attend these last two classes and you are satisfied with your grade point average at on Dec. 7th, you may elect not to take the final exam. In this latter instance, your three (3) midterm exam scores will count 33.3% each instead of 25% each, therefore comprising your total GPA in the course.
