Grading in this course is based upon one quiz and four tests worth a total of 220 points. The tests will not be comprehensive, in that the material covered will primarily involve the readings and lectures from that section of the course. All tests will be at least partially computer scored. As such, please bring a #2 pencil with you to the tests. Missed examinations may not be made up without an excused absence.

Grades are assigned on a strict 90%-80%-70%-60% scale. The plus/minus determination is based on 2.5% on either side of the grade cutoff, as follows:

Freud, S. (1940). An Outline of Psychoanalysis. New York: W. W. Norton.

Personality tests on the web:

Keirsey Temperament Sorter

Test Junkie  A number of random personality tests.  They're fun to take, and are good practice for thinking about reliability and validity.  :-)

Other Web Resources:

The Freud Web  An overview of Freud's life and works

The Jung Index   All things Jung.  The "Introduction to Jung" gives a good overview, and they have more in-depth descriptions of archetypes.

Personality and Consciousness  Has descriptions of a number of different theorists and approaches; also has a cool yet slightly disturbing melding-psychologist graphic.
