• Attend class.
• Read the assigned material before class, and again after class.
• Complete "Test Yourself" sections in the book.
• Learn "Terms to Remember" (also in Glossary).
  • Practice by recalling term in response to definition and definition in response to term.
  • Relate concepts to personal experiences.
• Make sure your understanding of key concepts is precise; getting the general idea is not enough.
• Practice multiple-choice questions in Study Guide.
• Study in small groups.
  • It is easier to be quizzed than to quiz yourself.
  • Tell your study partner not to let you get by with a partially correct answer.
• Use practice tests to test your knowledge; don't study them.
• Study a little bit every day.
• Keep in mind that learning the material is not the same as preparing for an exam.
